How did you like your last vacation? Did you enjoy yourself? Were you entertained? Was there some relaxing time also or did your last vacation consist of you toting your family around, doing some work around the yard and other household chores? Would you consider your last “vacation” a “staycation”? Why not do something different this year? Next time you have a few days off, why not test one of the local adventure travels. If crossing the state line is not an option, there are probably many different adventures you can participate in. If you can afford to spend a little more, why not treat yourself to a true adventure? Here are some crowd-pleasing adventure travels. For example, if you are in Southern California, try doing some Orange County whale whatching from Dana Point, California.
Believe it or not, some cruises can be considered adventure travels. Some cruises with specific docking places, such as Europe or the Greek Isles can be a fantastic way to get out and discover some joy in learning about some amazing moments in history and touring historical sites. Don’t you want to see where the first Olympic games were held? Don’t you want to tour Stonehenge? There are plenty of ways to stay active on the boat. These cruises normally offer different ways to stay active, such as rock climbing and sea diving. There is a lot more to a cruise than lying on the lido deck!
Shark Diving is not for the light hearted but it can be incredibly exciting. The Shark Diver Company has diving packages that allow you to dive with the sharks in California and Mexico. A word of warning: adventure travels like these cost quite a bit of money. Most are around three thousand dollars per person. Usually these types of vacations last for about five days. Make sure you have obtained your diving certification before you leave for your tip. You wouldn’t want to have to sit up on the boat the whole time! If you are looking for last minute vacations, this can save a lot of money.
Try out a Llama Trek! Anybody can ride a horse. If you want a great adventure travel without having to leave the United States, try the Hurricane Creek Llama Treks in Oregon. During these treks, you camp outdoors and you are responsible for bringing your own equipment (and setting it up/taking it down) and packing and unpacking your llama bags. These are great trips because you can either ride your own llama in the Oregon wilderness or you can walk the trails and lead your llama behind you. How many other times in your life will you be able to ride llamas? “Adventure travels” can be defined in so many different ways. For some people it includes crazy adventures, like hiking the highest mountains in the world or experiencing extreme climate conditions. For some, it involves challenging situations they are not used to in their normal, everyday life – such as cattle driving and hiking in different lands, etc. Still for some, adventure travels revolve around learning about new things and still having a relaxing trip. In short: no matter what your interests, you can find an adventure vacation suited to you!
