The Nasca Lines are located only two hours from Ica, 50 square km of desert floor were covered centuries ago by enormous drawings, figures of mammals, insects and deities. Discovered in 1927, are one of the most extraordinary legacies left by a culture that grown in 300 BC. The lines are a series of complex designs, some up to 300 meters long, which can only be seen in their real dimension from the sky. The Nasca culture is not to believe they were capable of flight. However, the question remains as how they created the drawings, what kind of technology they used and to what purpose the lines were designed.

Arequipa, located in southern Peru, known as the White City for its beautiful white walls of sillar, a volcanic stone, lies at the feet of the mighty volcanoes of Mount Chachani, Mount Misti, and the snow covered peak of Mount Pichu Pichu. The downtown of the Arequipa city, placed on the World Cultural Heritage list by UNESCO, features Mixed Baroque churches and mansions from the Colonial Period like the Monastery of Santa Catalina, a Spanish city in miniature with stone streets, beautiful patios, and plazas. The Goyeneche Palace, Casa del Moral, and the district of Yanahuara, a point of confluence for visitors seeking a view point of the urban geography of the city. Sabandia, Tiabaya, and Tingo, located among the large fields, are must see places and the irresistible Arequipa cuisine is the perfect complement to the visit. The Colca Canyon is an impressive geological formation carved out by the river as it has descended between the mountains (made of largely volcanic materials) over million years. The area of greatest interest to tourists begins at the town of Chivay and continues north west for more than 60 km until reaching the lookout known as the Cruz del Condor near the town Cabanaconde. From here, the valley narrows significantly, giving origin to the fame of the Colca Canyon as one of the deepest in the world.
