Enjoy Peruvian Jungle 7 Days / 6 Nights

Loreto is a region in the northeastern Peru, It is the largest but at the same time, the least populated region in Peru. It is covered by thick vegetation and crisscrossed by many rivers of the Amazon River basin, which is born at the confluence of the Marañon and Ucayali Rivers.

Its capital is Iquitos, which is the main port city on the Amazon River and the largest city in the Peruvian jungle. Diverse indigenous people groups like the Bora, Cocama and Huitoto are the first inhabited this area. Then with arrive of the Jesuit missionaries who founded the city. At the end of the nineteenth century was when Iquitos experienced its greatest economic splendor due to the rubber industry. The economic bonanza meant that luxurious buildings like the Iron House, designed by the famous French architect Gustave Eiffel, made in Europe and shipped here and assembled in 1889.

Complete Itinerary

Day 1: Inbound - Lima
Arrive Lima airport. Meet upon arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Lima
Morning Lima city tour.
Savor lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon visit to local museum.
Enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Lima - Iquitos
Early morning visit the Pantanos de Villa for birdwatching.
Savor lunch at local restaurant.
Transfer from the hotel to the Lima airport for flight Lima - Iquitos.
Arrive Iquitos airport. Met upon arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Iquitos
Morning transfer Twenty-five miles down the Amazon River to the lodge.
Afternoon hike in the beautiful primary rainforest reserve surrounding Ceiba Tops which includes many huge trees festooned with epiphytes.
Enjoy lunch and dinner at the lodge.

Day 5: Iquitos
Morning boat ride, spotting for freshwater dolphins, to visit a small village of Yagua Indians.
Afternoon walking excursion to the neighboring town of Indiana.
Enjoy lunch and dinner at the lodge.

Day 6: Iquitos
Morning hike to the Canopy Walkway, a suspended bridge spanning 500 meters, connected by tree platforms and reaching a height of over 35 meters (115 feet) above the forest floor.
Afternoon visit the ReNuPeRu Ethnobotanical garden where over 240 medicinal plants are cultivated by a local shaman.
Enjoy lunch and dinner at the lodge.

Day 7: Iquitos - Lima - Outbound
Morning at leisure.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge.
Transfer from the lodge to the Iquitos airport for flight Iquitos - Lima.
Arrive Lima airport. Met upon arrival and assistance for outbound flight.

The King of Rivers

After descending from the Andes, the Amazon River is joined by the waters of over 1100 tributaries until it becomes a liquid mass of unimaginable proportions. Stretching for 6762 km, it is the longest and widest river, with the greatest volume of water in the world. In Peru, it drains some 956 751 km2 and close to 900 species of fish have been identified in its waters.
